Could you share a challenging tattoo project you’ve worked on and how you overcame it?

I think that all tattoos have their level of difficulties, but I could say that the largest projects that I have done on the back or full arms have been challenges for me as an artist since I have to think about the fluidity of the design in the part of the body, where it is working. This type of tattoo takes a long time, there are several sessions and requires a lot of concentration. So I think that with patience and a lot of dedication and obviously the passion I have for tattooing, all this is a motivation to “overcome” these types of challenges, which at the end of the day are the best.

Besides tattooing, do you have any other artistic activities or hobbies that inspire your work?

I really like going for walks and taking inspiration from wherever I go or wherever I am. If something catches my attention, I’m probably already thinking of many ideas and that is inspiration for me. I also like photography, dancing and listening to music. It is something that I think can also inspire me and obviously paint or draw, look for references in other artists that I admire in images that I have saved on my cell phone or photos that I have taken, they are all sources of inspiration to create and apart from that I am a real dreamer, so anything can be a source of inspiration for me.

What’s the silliest tattoo you’ve ever considered getting?

I’ve done some silly tattoos and sometimes I think they’re funny and I could do something like that, but then I think about it and I wouldn’t do it. I’ve done eggplants like the emoji, a happy face on the big toe… etc.

Well, I don’t think I have any silly tattoos so far.

Is there a book, movie or television show that has had a significant influence on your life or way of thinking?

When I was little I watched the television show with Bob Ross, a painter who broadcast his paintings live, I think it gave me a lot of inspiration, and I dreamed of one day making paintings like that, like him, I also saw myself on Disney channel Art Attack, where they did many types of crafts. When I was a teenager I watched Los Angeles ink with Kat Avon D, it also filled me with a lot of inspiration for tattooing, and many books about artists and their biographies, such as Salvador Dalí, who is my favorite artist.

What is the strangest or most unique talent you have that people might not know about?

I don’t have strange talents, I can move my ears, that would be the strangest thing I can do. I can also photograph people, just give me a couple of hours.

What are your favorite hobbies or activities outside of your job as a tattoo artist?

I like painting, long walks, exercising, dancing, meeting friends and going out to eat and drink.

If you could have any superpower, what would it be and how do you think it would affect your daily life?

I would like to teleport, or be invisible, I would be on time for everything, and I could travel wherever I wanted, and if I am invisible maybe I can enter very exclusive or hidden places, and if I am invisible no one would notice, I could experience the life of a very free form, I think…. I open debate.

If you could invite three famous people (living or dead) to a dinner party, who would you choose and why?

I would invite Chris Martín, singer of Coldplay because it is my favorite band, Kat Von D, who was an influence in my adolescence and youth to motivate me to undertake as a tattoo artist, and Whang-od, she is a Filipino tattoo artist, she is 106 years old and the traditional mambatok tattoo is his passion.
