Here are some good tips for you to prepare for your tattoo session:

  1. NO-NO’s

It’s a strict “no-no” to consume alcohol or any blood-thinning substances at least 24 hours before your tattoo appointment. Additionally, avoid any drug use.

  1. SLEEP

Ensure you get a good night’s sleep before your tattoo session to feel well-rested and at ease during the process.

  1. GOOD FOOD

Having a substantial meal before your tattoo session is crucial. Your body requires energy to manage the potential discomfort, prevent dizziness, and accommodate any unexpected delays. You can also bring some snacks with you if needed.

  1. HYDRATE

Keep yourself well-hydrated in the weeks leading up to your tattoo appointment, as proper hydration aids in the tattooing process and healing. However, refrain from moisturizing your skin on the day of the appointment.

  1. HYGIENE MATTERS

Consider taking a shower before your session to maintain hygiene during the process and reduce the risk of infections. Be mindful of your choice of fragrance, as some people in the studio may have allergies.

  1. DRESS APPROPRIATELY

Avoid wearing brand new or vibrant clothing, as they may get ink stains. Opt for comfortable attire that provides easy access to the tattoo area, like loose pants or a dress for leg tattoos.

  1. AVOID TRAINING

Refrain from engaging in physical activities on the same day as your tattoo appointment to prevent swelling and discomfort. Your body needs its energy for the healing process.

  1. AVOID SKIN TREATMENTS

Do not undergo skin treatments in the area to be tattooed, such as chemical peels or fake tanning. Additionally, steer clear of intense tanning, sunburns, or any major cuts or scrapes in the tattoo area.

  1. BRING ENTERTAINMENT

Make the most of your tattoo session by bringing something to keep yourself entertained. For extended sessions, consider bringing a book or your phone for reading or watching a movie, and don’t forget to bring your charger.

Keep in mind that following your tattoo session, it’s important to steer clear of sunlight, saunas, and bathing for at least 2 weeks. Read more about the aftercare instructions.
